I decided to have the dealer install this radio. It is way over priced, but I want to have it installed by the dearler. I figure it would be less heart ache that way. It will add $1999 to the price of the vehicle.

I talked to the Finance person today at the Dealer, and It looks like I'll get the loan. That good news to me. After a year, you worry about not getting the loan. But he told me not to worry. Also, I ordered Accessories too. I plan on getting the cloth and plastic formats. The all weather floor mats can be removed and I will have the other floor mats underneath. I also orded the CD holder. I thought it would look good. I also ordered the cargo nets for the back deck. I had these in another car and used them all the time. I also added the deck with a cargo net, Sorta just for the cool factor. I also decided to get the 5 year 70,000 mile warrenty. I figured no matter how much I love the car, that you just don't know what might happen to it. I also ordered the Smart Design Stickers. It's the sticker that goes down the door. It'll have the number Two on it, Another cool factor. These will make the small car price a lot more expesive, but I think it'll be worth it.

My car is on the ship Tarago, and it is currently on schedule. It is due to leave the port ZEEBRUGGE in BELGIUM. Useing VessleTracker.com, I'm able to track it on google maps. It will be nice to know that tomorrow, my car is actually headed to the states. It should arrive in Baltimore on the 23rd, so it will be fun the next 9 days watching it. In the mean time, I'm reading the Forums at smartcarofamerica.com, There I learn alot. There are lots of cool mods there, but Haven't decided which one I do.

My EDD chaged today to 8/7/2008 to 11/5/2008. It was 8/4/2008-11/3/2008. Now that I have a VIN number, I really don't care, except it is fun to watch. I figured out how to take a photo with my Iphone and deliver it right to the blog. So I will beable to take pictures of my Bumble Bee, and upload it from anywhere. This will be fun!

Smart Dealer Megan in Ohio, called me back! I now have my VIN number. I asked her to put the racing strip on the doors, and she is going to order them. She said it is expected in on the 3rd September. You can't see it, but I'm doning my Happy Dance.

After a year waiting for Smart to call me and tell me my car will be here soon. I missed it. I was on the phone talking to my duaghter who lives in another state. I didn't hear the incoming call, and I missed it. The dealer left a message that my car will be here around the 1st of September! Now I'm excited!

My estimated delivery date changed today. It was 08/13/08 - 11/11/08 now it is 08/04/08 to 11/02/08. Now it really shows I'm in my 90 day window! It really is getting exciting now. It's been a long year. I've been trying to save every penny, and pay my bills off so I can afford it. My credit ratings is in the Fair/good to good range. I know becuase I check it everyday now for almost a year. I'm hoping getting a loan will not be a problem. My goald is to pay the car off in 2 years, but first I have to get the loan.

A lot of people are ordering two smart cars now. They like the first on so much, they are putting there names in for another one. Thought about doing it too, because it is almost 24 months to get the next one, and I could have this one paid off by then. It would be cool to have two of them. But the next one would have to be the convertable.

Got my smart shirt today.

I bought a smart car shirt from a lady who sells on ebay. Every well done. I wore it today to work, and got a lot of good comments about it. It didn't take very long to get it too. She sent it the next day after I ordered it. The camera blured the car, but really it looks great in person. No Flaws. Email her at privateisland3@hotmail.com I paid $26.50 delivered. She will make it to match your smart car color, including the cell color. She has different color shirts too. You can find her stuff on ebay too.

Today my EDD changed to: 8/13/2008 to 11/11/2008. It changed only by one day. But, I've noticed that everyday it changes it changes at 0700 am in the morning. But, I still like checking it all day on my I-phone.

As I understand, I am now in the silly part of the EDD. This is the third time in 3 business days it's changed. Smart hasn't explained it, and the forums only guess why. Maybe it is in production, and maybe it is waiting for a boat now. But what ever it is, I'm gladd to see it happen, because it means I'm getting closer. My new Estimated Dilivery Date is : 8/12/2008 to 11/10/2008. It's two days closer then it was before. And thats good. That puts it 7 days away. But I can't get excited, becuase it could move either way tomorrow. With it changing like this, I'm on target to get it around the 15th of September.

Got an email from Aaron Lephart from http://forum.smartcar451.com/ to check his site out. Looks like another good site to share your smart car experiences. I plan on visiting it alot.

As I understand from the forums, when your EDD changes all the time, you car is close to being built. My new date as of today is Estimated ETA Date:
8/15/2008 to 11/13/2008. It was 8/11/08-11/9/08. That puts my EDD two weeks away now. Actually, this will help because I spent about $300 this weekend, and it will give me time to make it up.

I just checked my Estimated Delivery Date Web Site and I got this date: Estimated ETA Date: 8/11/2008 to 11/9/2008 They pushed it off another week. Not surprising becuase they said it wasn't even in production yet.

Comeing up Sunday, will be my 1st day of my 90 day Estimated Delivery Date. Once my EDD date started on 25 July, and I've past that. If my EDD doesn't move again, I'll be in my EDD 90 days. But as I said in an earlier post, they still haven't even started building it yet. I'm hoping next week, I'll get an email that says it's been built and they will assign me a Dealer. Now I'm worried about gettting the loan. I got a devorce about 1 1/2 years ago, and my finances wasn't very good. I've checked my credit scores, and they are Good to Fair. So I hope with this credit crunch the banks are having that I will be able to get the loan. After waiting a year, I would hate to think I can't get my dream car because of the loan. One of the problem is my vacation and the car is coming at the same time. On my vacation, I will be spending it with my daughter. The time can't change, because it's been planned for a long time. I haven't seen her for a long time now, and I can't change it , even if it means I have to skip getting the car. I praying everything will work out. I hope it wont require alot of cash to get the car. My plan is to pay it off early when I get it.

I contacted Smart today to find out if they have assigned a dealer yet, since I could get my car as early as next week, according to their EDD web site. But, they told me that they haven't built it yet.

If my Estimated Delivery Date would've stayed on the 25 July - 23 Oct, I would've entered my 90 day waiting period today. But instead it is due to start on the 3 of August. Nest Weekend. But, according to the forums I'm entering the 7 days time frame where the DDE can change alot. But, if it stays the same, I'll start my 90 day waiting period. If you recall I ordered my Yellow/Black Passion back on August 31, 2007. It's been a long wait. Also According to the forum, If my 90 day starts on the 3 of August, I'll get my car sometime near the 3rd of September. I'll be on vacation then, and will make it part of my vacation. I can't wait.

Estimated ETA Date is now: 8/3/2008 to 11/1/2008 it was 8/5/2008 to 11/3/2008. Again, why bother with the change. If the car is coming in Septemeber why take the time to move it by 2 days. I really think this is where SMART is going wrong. Maybe this is just a way to keep the people from getting tired of waiting, and keep them in the program. The waiting list are 12 to 18 months, and I guess they have to find a way to keep them for 18 months. But what makes this interesting, this was the first time it moved during the week. The other times were only on Monday mornings.

My Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) for my Smart Car changed again. For about 3 weeks or more, it was 25 July - 23 October. Now its August 5 - November 3. Which isn't so bad. I really need to save up some money for my Smart Car. I've had car problems and other maintanence things that has put be behind a little, and a little more time is needed.
